The PENMEN® Comic Strip, a Wordless, Sequential Art Curiosity

The PENMEN® Pantomime Comic Strip ran in a limited number of newspapers through the 1990's. There was never a single word used to tell stories in three frames or less. Creator, Gary Blehm tried to introduce something new into the comic pages and it did best in color Sunday comics reaching millions. To this day he still prefers the black and white comic strip relying on wit while avoiding the written word.
